Plunderstorm is a patch 10.2.6 new time-limited pirate-themed event in World of Warcraft available to all active WoW players that offers various rewards for both Dragonflight and Classic characters. It is a battle royale event that takes place in Arathi Highlands and provides a new and refreshing PvP playstyle to up to 60 players with lootable abilities and various loot.
Plunderstorm event will feature a completely new experience for players- battle royale for up to 60 characters with 2 game modes: Solo and Duo squads:
The PvP in Plunderstorm is entirely different from classic World of Warcraft battles. Players start on the map with 1 starting skill and 6 empty slots for abilities that can be found all across the map. The pool of abilities in Plunderstorm includes every single spell from all World of Warcraft expansions, including the ones that NPCs had. The abilities have 4 types of rarity: Common (grey), Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), and Epic (purple). Heroes can use various spells in order to combo them for more damage. In Plunderstorm, there are no limits to what build players choose to use. This opens up countless possibilities to experiment with the build and have fun.
Heroes will start on a big piece of the Arathi Highlands map that will shrink with time, forcing players into fighting each other to gain the remaining loot and resources. The loot and new spells can be gathered from NPCs and from chests. In Duo mode, defeated heroes can watch their teammates while they play and wait to be resurrected. The winner is considered the last team to remain alive at the end.
Plunderstorm mode offers 40 tiers of rewards, similar to Dragonflight reputations. Those rewards include mounts, transmogrifications, cosmetics, etc. The number of points received after one Plunderstorm match depends on the placement that players get.
