Ahead of the Curve: Ula’Tek

Ahead of the Curve: Ula’tek Boost is a Heroic kill of Ula’tek – the final boss of The Venomous Abyss – and just what you need to get the seasonal Ahead of the Curve: Ula’tek achievement, as well as a shot at some sweet loot from the big bad himself.

This is a good choice if your main objective is to get AOTC before the current raid season wraps up, and you don’t need a full-on Heroic clear. That way you can still get that achievement without breaking the bank.

The Perks

• Ahead of the Curve: Ula’tek achievement – you can check that one off your list!
• You’ll have a Heroic kill of the final boss of The Venomous Abyss – which is no mean feat!
• Chance to snag some 315 ilvl Hero-track gear – because who doesn’t want to gear up their character?
• You might also get your hands on the Slumbering Coil Curio – a nice addition to your class set;
• You’ll of course get the usual weapons, trinkets, and other gear from Ula’tek – you know, the good stuff;
• You’ll earn some Hero Mistcrests;
• And get some Great Vault progress – because all that loot needs somewhere to go.

Loot Options

Now, depending on what you’re after, you can either take the standard loot distribution route or amp up your chances of scoring some decent gear.

• Group Loot – your standard fare – the loot gets rolled for, and you might or might not get lucky;
• Loot Protection – a bit of insurance against ending up with nothing worthwhile. The exact rules vary depending on what package you go with;
• Unsaved Boosters – you’ll have some fresh faces in the group, increasing the pool of loot to go around;
• Armor & Token Priority – the team will focus on getting you some nice armor and that sweet class set item;
• Full Priority – tradeable loot that’s actually right for you will be handed over first.

If getting that Ahead of the Curve: Ula’tek achievement is all you care about, Group Loot will usually do the trick. But if you also want to snag some extra gear from the final boss, then the Priority and Unsaved options become a lot more attractive.
