Scalecommander Sarkareth Boss Fight Guide
Scalecommander Sarkareth is a leader of the Sundered Flame faction. They came to Aberrus in search of power to overthrow the Aspects. At the same time, faction fights against Sabellian and Wrathion.
Sarkareth’s fight consists of 3 phases and has a lot of mechanics heroes need to keep an eye for. Oblivion spell is the main mechanic of this fight. Each time players are struck with void ability they gain a debuff that deals 3,200-4,600 shadow DPS and lasts for 25 seconds. After 10 stacks it enables the deadly mechanic “Emptiness Between Stars”. Target ports away to space and has 20 seconds to recover fragments of their mind if they want to survive.
Phase 1 begins with the “Opressing Howl” ability. It pushes foes away from the boss and applies a debuff that increases the incoming damage from other P1 spells. “Glittering Surge” deals a lot of arcane damage per second. If it hits the target with Opressing Howl active, it’ll receive “Dazzled” effect that most likely kills it. Dazzled can potentially be healed to avoid death.
2 other abilities are designed to remove Opressing Howl from raid members in exchange for damage taken:
- Mass Disintegrate;
- Searing Breath;
- Drifting Embers;
- Burning Claws;
Scorching bomb keeps you from grouping up. Stay 12 yards away from each other. Burning Claws effect stacks on the active tank and damage the raid with Blazing Blast upon expiring.
During Phase 2 Scalecommander Sarkareth starts using void magic.
Void bomb is the main spell of phase 2. They can be soaked from the Emptiness Between Stars zone. Infinite Duress is a shadow magic DoT that triggers Dread upon dispel. Dread hits and knock back foes. Embrace of Nothingness has to be soaked before it erupts. Astral Formations are meteors that land on the ground after Scalecommander Sarkareth uses Cosmic Ascension. Use them to hide from Scouring Eternity AoE.
Phase 3 is mostly identical to the second one, with the addition of “Motes of Oblivion”. AoE zone that rains upon players. Best time to use burst skills and Heroism or Drum buffs to finish the boss as quickly as possible.
